Use of Child's Creativity to Cope with the Pandemic

The entire process, from the first conception of the idea till delivering the final piece of the coloring book, was an overwhelming process for all of us. It not only allowed us to help the community we were targeting, but enabled us to understand our own emotions during the pandemic. It gave us a sense of purpose and made the tiring days of the lockdown more meaningful. As the demand for the book grew, as more requests came in, we were overwhelmed with emotion. Especially when we got feedback from the children themselves, testimonials from a nine year old saying he is no longer afraid of the virus or when the parents/caregivers sent us pictures of their kids coloring the book. The process started from a "not-so-sure" printing of the first 500 copies and ended up with the final 14,000th copy, three iterations and five versions, two different languages, and seven countries internationally.

El proceso entero, desde la primera concepción de la idea hasta la entrega de la pieza final del libro para colorear, fue un proceso abrumador para todos nosotros. No solo nos permitió ayudar a la comunidad a la que nos dirigíamos, sino también nos permitió comprender nuestras propias emociones durante la pandemia. Nos dio un sentido de propósito e hizo que los agotadores días del encierro fueran más significativos. A medida que crecía la demanda por el libro, a medida que llegaban más solicitudes, nos abrumábamos de emoción; especialmente cuando recibimos comentarios de los propios niños, el testimonio de un niño de nueve años que decía que ya no teme al virus, o cuando los padres / cuidadores nos enviaban fotos de sus hijos coloreando el libro. L'ensemble du processus, de la première conception de l'idée jusqu'à la livraison de la dernière pièce du livre de coloriage, a été un processus accablant pour nous tous. Cela nous a non seulement permis d'aider la communauté que nous ciblions, mais nous a également permis de comprendre nos propres émotions pendant la pandémie. Cela nous a donné un but et a rendu les jours fatigants du confinement plus significatifs. Au fur et à mesure que la demande pour le livre augmentait, que de nouvelles demandes arrivaient, nous étions submergés par l'émotion. Surtout quand nous avons reçu les commentaires des enfants eux-mêmes, des témoignages d'un enfant de neuf ans disant qu'il n'a plus peur du virus ou quand les parents / soignants nous ont envoyé des photos de leurs enfants en train de colorier le livre. Le processus a commencé par une impression « pas si sûre » des 500 premiers exemplaires et s'est terminé par le 14 000ème exemplaire final, trois itérations et cinq versions, deux langues différentes et sept pays à l'échelle internationale.

从最初的构思到交付终稿，整个过程对我们所有人来说都很不容易，它不仅让我们达成了帮助目标社区的目的，而且让我们对自己在疫情期间的情绪有了更多的了解。它赋予了我们一种使命感，也让疫情封城期间我们疲惫不堪的日子变得更有意义。随后，大家对这本书的需求的增长让我们有点措手不及的同时也倍感激动，特别是当我们从孩子们那里听到反馈时：一个 9 岁的孩子说他不再害怕病毒，父母/监护人给我们发来孩子给书涂色的照片。最开始这本书只有 500 份"不太确定"的印刷量，最后是 14,000 ，三次更新和五个版本，被翻译成了两种不同的文字，在世界上的七个国家发行。
