During a time when there was so much death and strife in the world, it seemed important to showcase success stories in environmental regeneration. These species have been brought back from the brink of extinction because human beings worked to understand why they were becoming extinct, found governmental/organizational solutions to the problems with their habitats, and banded together to create sustainable practices to allow the species to thrive again. Rather than giving in to the despair of COVID, it was a great exercise to focus on success stories where people had worked together in order to help different species continue to exist and thrive. The research and creative process behind my work engaged my mind and spirit in a process that was about life, about cooperation, and about regeneration.

Durante una época en que había tanta muerte y conflictos en el mundo, parecía importante mostrar historias de éxito en la regeneración ambiental. La curruca de Kirtland ha sido rescatada del borde de la extinción porque los seres humanos trabajaron para comprender por qué se estaban extinguiendo, encontraron soluciones gubernamentales / organizativas a los problemas con sus hábitats y se unieron para crear prácticas sostenibles para permitir que la especie prospere nuevamente. En lugar de ceder a la desesperación de COVID, fue un gran ejercicio centrarse en historias de éxito en las que las personas habían trabajado juntas para ayudar a que una especie siguiera existiendo y prosperando. La investigación y el proceso creativo detrás de mi trabajo involucraron mi mente y espíritu en un proceso que trataba sobre la vida, la cooperación y la regeneración.

A un moment où la mort et le conflit sont si abondants dans le monde, il semblait important de mettre en avant les réussites de la régénération écologique. La paruline de Kirtland a été restaurée à niveau durable après avoir été au bord de l'extinction car les êtres humains ont travaillé pour comprendre pourquoi les oiseaux étaient en voie d'extinction, ont trouvé des solutions gouvernementales et organisationnelles contre les problèmes avec leurs habitats, et se sont ensuite unis pour créer des pratiques durables pour revitaliser l'espèce. Là où l'on aurait pu céder au désespoir du Covid, c'était un exercice formidable de focaliser sur nos moments de réussite où les gens ont travaillé ensemble pour ramener une espèce du bord de l'extinction et l'aider à prospérer dans son environnement. La recherche et le processus créatif qui sont à l'origine de mon œuvre ont embarqué mon cerveau tout comme mon esprit sur un voyage basé dans la vie, la coopération, et la régénération.
