What is your relationship to paint? What's the difference between the act of painting and the ability to paint? "Horizons and Orientations" is an exploration of the expression, orientation, and sensation of painting during the pandemic. This piece explores how one can carry out a creative, experimental painting process while being shut in, as large artistic formats become challenging in small, confined spaces. This work began as a wrenching, instinctive expression where the very materiality of the paint was guiding me. What was initially an overflowing experiment in a sea of expression was transformed into a medium for dialogue. The pandemic gave me total autonomy over my body and a sense of confidence through a process of self-knowledge and experimentation; we do not know who our bodies truly are until we are alone with them.

"Horizontes y orientaciones" es una exploración de la expresión, la orientación y la sensación de pintar durante la pandemia. Esta obra explora cómo se puede llevar a cabo un proceso de creación y de experimentación con la pintura mientras se está encerrado, ya que los formatos artísticos grandes se vuelven desafiantes en espacios pequeños y confinados. Este trabajo comenzó como una expresión instintiva y dolorosa en la que la propia materialidad de la pintura me guiaba. Lo que empezó siendo un experimento que se desbordaba en un mar de expresión se transformó en un medio para el diálogo. La pandemia me dio una autonomía total sobre mi cuerpo y un sentido de confianza a través de un proceso de autoconocimiento y experimentación; no sabemos quiénes son nuestros cuerpos de verdad hasta que estamos solos con ellos.

"Horizons et orientations" explore l'expression, l'orientation, et la sensation de peindre au cours de la pandémie. La pièce examine comment on peut réaliser un processus de peinture créatif et expérimental tout en étant confiné, ce qui compresse les grands formats artistiques. Cette œuvre est née dans une expression déchirante, instinctive où la matérialité de la peinture même me guidait. Ce qui était à l'origine une expérimentation débordant dans une mer d'expression s'est transformé en milieu de discussion. La pandémie m'a donné une autonomie corporelle totale et une confiance à travers ce processus d'expérimentation où j'ai appris à me connaître moi-même. Nous ne comprenons pas notre corps jusqu'à ce que nous soyons seuls avec lui.
