"RED BODY WITHOUT OUTLINE" is a series of illustrations that emerged from my research – a creation in the midst of the COVID-19 contingency that emphasizes the importance of mapping the body for its understanding. These images express the external and internal chaos that I developed in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, as I was forced to face my feelings and my corporeality to understand the ways in which pain and suffering flow. I needed to take refuge from my bodily and emotional suffering, which emerged in the midst of the pandemic. These illustrations are part of my degree project called "FLOW IN RED: Ephemeral Experiences from the Transformations of Red," which allowed me to obtain my degree in visual arts at the National Pedagogical University of Colombia. --Label design by exhibit curator Nancy DeJoy. 1 of 7: RED BODY WITHOUT OUTLINE. Part 01
A digital vector illustration of a mid-portion of a body with two hands spread out in front of it with only the front of the wrists touching, so the inside of the hands are facing outward. The hands and body are full of red lines that swirl around each other without touching. The lines are closest together at the fingers and places on the body where the fingertips touch, spreading and straightening out as they get farther away. The background is white.

The lines are closest together at the fingers and palm spreading and straightening out as they get farther away. In the photo the person has light colored skin and red nail polish. A circle of red lines spread out from the wrist of the hand below, blending into the background. The background around the photo is white.

A digital illustration of two hands placed on top of eachother, the top hand is facing down, outlined in black, placed on the other's wrist with the inside of the hand facing upwards. The hand on the bottom is full of red lines that swirl around each other without touching. The lines are closest together at the fingers and palm spreading and straightening out as they get farther away. A circle of red lines spread out from the wrist of the hand below, seemingly fainter than those in the hand and blending slightly into the white background.

6 of 7: RED BODY WITHOUT OUTLINE. Part 06
An abstract digital illustration on a white background of red prints of pieces of a palm and fingers fanning out in a half-circle at the top with a finger print full of lines folded over on either side below and two ovals in between them. The ovals are side by side and have the darkest, longest lines stemming from the sides facing the fingerprints. Below the ovals are two full-finger prints side by side with the darkest lines at the tip of the fingers. Below that are two irregular rectangle shapes full of lines with softened notches out of the top that touch the base of the piece. All of the lines inside the shapes of this piece encircle each other but never seem to touch each other, despite how small or long they may be.

7 of 7: RED BODY WITHOUT OUTLINE. Part 07
A digital illustration on a white background with red lines. Starting from the left, the lines show almost none of the background behind it. They are dark, almost angry scribbles in a circular shape with a darker red outline of a child in the fetal position in the center. To the right is a similar-shaped, slightly taller grouping of lines, this time with organically shaped circles that get sequentially smaller and closer together inside of the shape, making it seem like the middle is darker than the outer parts. To the right of that is a similar design with much longer lines that are closer together, all if the lines are the same weight except for some, randomly scattered, heavier lines.
