	Dear Mother I take my pen
to let you know that I have not
forgotten you but as it is my luck
on Friday the 27th of November
the regiment was sent to support
a skirmish line when I got a 
light wound in the ancle but 
it is not serious by any means
I can walk on my foot at this
state but as I have had no chance 
of sending you a letter I have
waited until the present so
that I could tell you where
I am but as there are no news 
of importance I will only write
of myself I had a letter from
Frank a few days ago he
is well at this time I think
that if you have not got my 
shirts under way you may
let them go but do not

f patience about them I do
not think of that you
know not how I feel if
I was at home I could
tell you more than I can
write in a week but I must
wait for my time to expire
then I shall see all of you
I hope at home for the 
present I must close
if you can get 2 or 4 stamps
send them to me for I cant
get any here so I will
