Fairfax Monday April 27th

Dear Mother I take my
pen to finish a letter that
Bro Frank began he gave

[of?] Camp I had a good visit
with him yesterday and again
today he is in good health
and spirits they have gone to
the Army of the Potomac I
suppose I think the Boys all
look fine I saw all of them
they seemed ples to see me
[M. Hovey] is with them
[bank?] is full of [few?] as ever
so is Dewitt they are good
Boys I tell you
as for the news there are
none of importance of me

you know now I am in
good health and look as
well as I ever did in
my life I am the fast [illegible]

High school where I am
I have about one hours

got fat had I not
I heard from you the
other day by way of Allie B
and by the way of Mary
hear from you I am
awanting to get my pay the
first of next month to
send you some money

all of the time lately
