Camp Elle Bishop Jan 5 the 63 Dear Mother I read your letter night before last, & read it with great interest, for I love to hear from friends the Soldiers are about the same as common only, Ralph & Philip. Ralph has been about Sick for 3 or 4 days Philip has a Blister on his Back, whch which makes him quite Sick & lame the Snow is about 4 inches deep there is not much news to write that I think of just now the Boys that are Sick have just gone to the Hospital, to get Examed & to get Medisine I Shall be glad to se the time come when the Sick will not have to go to be excused from duty when they can have good beds to stay Sleep in but we are here perhaps the time will come when we Soldiers will return to our homes, but the most of the Soldiers appear to enjoy themselves as well as could be expected.
