/61 Nashua Nove 13 Dear brother Your Letter of nov. 6th came to hand last Saturday morning I Should have received it before But have been here in Nashua two or three weeks I have enlisted in the 6th NH, regiment of volunteers, & we Shall go into Camp at [Keene?] Soon I do not know how soon but will let you know when we do all of our friends here are in good health aunt Lorena keeps about the Same as usual. She Sent you a Letter the other day & Some paper. I am here Recruiting for the Regiment & mighty dull work it is haveing only received one man Since I opened the office Business of all kinds is Dull enough here in nashua on the [uper?] [Coperation?] they are making Soldiers drawers at the rate of five thous and pairs per day, week have a contract for 800- 000 pairs they make the cloth & cut it up, & then Let the Women cary Home & make them up one can hardly meet a Woman in the Street that has not her arms full of Soldiers I See by the papers that the fleet is in south Carolina Wonder how James likes to hear the Whisle of bullets by our regiment is to be arm ed with Sharps rifles & Sabre bayonets & we Shall be equiped in Shape you Will See if you have Seen any of the N.H. regiments. We Shall Probaly be in Washington as soon as the midle of december & then I Will See you if I Can tell the boys [illegible] go it While they are young, for When they get old they cannot Enclosed I Send you a note From mother Bolles, uncle Bolles has just been here in the Office & I have tried to get him to enlist all are opposed to my going into the army again But I cannot content myself to Stand Idle & See my old Flag Spit upon although they are my countrymen I cannot think of any more to Write at present So Will Send you my love, my best Respects all the boys of Co.
