Jan. 25th /63 Sunday morning Dear brother it and sister it is with pleasure I seat myself to pen you a few lines today finds us residents of Saginaw City. We arrived here in safety We are well at present and hope this will find the same blessing bestowed upon you and your household We have not commenced keeping house yet but intend to move day after to morrow no preventing providence The market is very steady beef's selling at three and a half and four dollars per hundred and pork is selling at four and half and five. [&?] Apples are worth 75 cts. butter is worth sixteen and eggs are worth eighteen cts potatoes are selling at five about sixty nine cts per bushel nothing more of importance this time Ann will fill out the sheet so I think I have a reasonable excuse for not writing more this time [illegible] write soon good bye Carlos Hayes Dear brother and sister it is with pleasure that I take [I?] my pen to write a few lines to you I have just been writing home while Carlos was writing you he is finishing their letter and I will finishing yours. I like it here very well much better then I thought I should.
