City Dear brother we recieved your letter in due time and was glad to hear from you I hope your boy may be spared to you and that the kind hand of providence will prosper him through life We are well at present and enjoy ourselves as well as usual Things are good here this fall I am still working in the shingle mill We have very fine weather here this fall. and a good chance to improve it Joseph in regard to the note held by Mr Glines I think you had better not buy it untill I come out there I will pay you what interest you have in the note and perhaps the whole of it but I must pay my honest debts first then I am going to that pay ^ [crossed out] [that you may think srange strange.] Now I will give you the price of produce as near as I can Apples from wagon from $1-50 to $1-75 potatoes about 37 cts butter 45 cts per lb lb, and egges 45 cts per dozen If you see Thomas this week or the first of next I wish you would tell him to write and let me know whether he has caught those furs for me or not tell him to write soon or I shall not get it as we are comeing out there soon I must close for I expect to see you soon then I can tell you much which to night my pen refuses to do give our love to all C F Hayes J G Bamber Nov 25th Joseph I wish you would tell Tom to that I want him to answer the letter which I have written to him if he has recieved it Tell him to write soon or I shall not get it before we come out there I think we will come in about two weeks We are well to night In Paine and Rights lumber shanty were nine persons poisoned to death a drinking tea beware O ze tea topers I must close or I shall be to late to mail it to night good bye for the present C F H Mr Joseph S Bamber Highland Oakland Co.
