Oct. Dec. 16th /65 Dear brother and sister once more I resume my seat to pen you a few lines in answer to your thrice wellcome letter which we recieved last friday We were glad to hear from you and learn that you and yours were well you said it was very sickly out there am I ^ sorry to hear that It is there are [crossed out] somewhat sickly here but ^ not many deaths We are well and evjoying the many blessings which the kind hand of providence hath bestowed upon us. It is raining here to day the weather has been ^ extremely warm but to day it is a considerable cooler Tom is here he is well I have sold my machine but I am running the same mill for the man I sold to. I am getting three dollars excuse per day. Joseph you must ^ me for not writing before I have to work about thirty five days for a month so you see I have not much time to write We would like to come out there this fall but I am not certain that we shall [three words crossed out] I must close for it is getting late give our love to all write soon C F Hayes J S Bamber Nov. 15th /65 Well Joseph again I find myself trying to finish the letter which I commenced about one month ago or rather to make an excuse for not sending mailing it before you I have to be in the mill through the day and then file the saws after mill hours so you see I have but little time to write we are well at present it is quite healthy in the Saginaw Valley at present Tom is here he talks of comeing home one week from to morow I think we shall come out there this fall nothing more of importance this time write soon give our love to all Carlos F Hayes [Penciled in] [?] Mr Joseph Bamber Highland Oakland Co Mich, [Penciled in] [1865-10-16]
