May the 30 - - 1863 Dear wife i [set down?] to Comunicate Theas few lines to you To let you no how i am at this time My health is very good at present Hoping theas few lines will find you Engoying the same Blessing i am still hear in the Camp of distribution Reddy to go to my Ridgment when Ever they send for me i shall [crossed out letter] Probley stay hear some time they are talking a Bout detailing me for a Coock And if they do i shall stay Hear a good while i dont hav much to do hear onley a Bout one our Evry day and the Rest of the time i hav to my self Their is a lot of men sent Away from hear to their Evry few day and their is a good many that is a coming into this camp Evry day from the Armey such as Wonded and Penall Prisenors theas Penall Priznors Will hav to stay hear untill they are ExChanged and When they are ExChanged they are Then sent Back to their Redgment And the Wonded men are Cep hear and if they aint Wonded to Bad they are sent to a Care Called the invled Care this invled Care is to do lite duty in sitteys A Bout in difrents Places such as garding stores and ather places They do this in sted of dischargin Theas men they haint dischargin But a very few now and What They do discharg is them that Cant do nothing a tall for the goverment nor them selves i think that is hard as i sed Before [two words illegible] a great meny that is A Comin in from their Ridgments such as Wonded [illegible] and Perolled Prizners – i dont hear much news A Bout the War But What i hav Hurd is very good and in our favor I have Writen three letters to you And i sent tenn dollers in one And five in the other And i Cant tell whether you git them or not Becaus i cant git eny answer from home And i dont no as you Will git this But i hope so Write often to me I hope that i shall Be With you Before [illegible] while Alman i Would Lik to hear how you git a long With your farming Be Carful And tak Care of things and keep out of Bad Compney this is from your father B Brock to sun and wife this is all this time good By to all
