Dear wife i take this opportunity
to write a few lines to you
to inform you that i am well
at present and hope you are
the same i am very ancious
to hear from you and about
affairs at home as you have not
written i don’t know how you
are i have not recieved my
money yet but expect to get
it soon. there is no prospects
of our going away yet but i
will try and let you know
before i go. they call us to
duty and i must close with
giving you directions where to
write i yet remain your
affectionate hisband
