Camp Near Brandy Station th April the 11 1864 Dear Wife I now Seat my Self to write you a few lines in answer to one which I resieved from you yestertay It found me well & injoying my Self as well as can be expected in the armmy I am Sory you have So much on your mind but Salleyann you must do the best you can The wether is very Colde hear it Snowed last knight and is raning Sleet to day I want you to keep the cow and not give her up nor any thing else which is on the premices I wish I was to home but there is no use of Wishing for it is imposible fur me to get a [crossed out] [way] furlough There is to letters which you had not resieved when you wrote one has five dollars in & the other 7.00 dolars and I want you to write as Soon as you get this & let me no whether you have got it yet or not for it is time you had Weall Dear Son Almon I now write you a few lines hoping you have ben a good boy & well I would like to have you write and let me no whether you have made calculation on raising any thing this Summer & who is going to work the place if anyone when I get my next pay I will Send you money to pay for that Steer which you bought So you need not be paying intrest on it Write Soon From your [Father?]
