At a called Meeting of the Officers of the 4 Mich
Cavalry at these Head Quarters of which Lieut Col
J. B. Park was Chairman and Lieut George R
Stone was Secretary the following proceedings 
were had
	Moved by Capt B.D. Pritchard that the
Flag recently captured by the 4 Mich Cavalry
at Middleton Tenn” from the 1st Alabama Regiment
of Rebel Cavalry be presented to the People of
the State of Michigan, which Motion was unan-
-imously adopted
	On motion of Capt RB Robbins
that a Committee of three be appointed for
the purpose of drafting suitable Resolutions
to accompany the presentation – the Chair
appointed the following as such Committee
	Capt R.B. Robbins Major Frank W. Mix &
Capt B.D. Pritchard
	The following Resolutions were sub-
-sequently adopted
	Whereas— The 4 Mich Cavalry in its
recent successful raid into Middleton Tenn
having Captured the Regimental Flag from
the 1st Regiment of Alabama Rebel Cavalry, and
duly appreciating the kindness of the People of the
State of Mich” towards this Regt and the deep
interest manifested by them in the wellfare
of the Army and the noble cause in which
it is engaged— Therefore be it
1st Resolved
	That the Flag thus Captured be presented
by the Officers and Men of this Regt to the People
of the State of Mich as additional evidence of our
attachment to the beautiful State we so proudly
call our own and their devotion to the cause
of our common Country—And we respectfully

request that said Flag be placed among
the State Archives as a memento of the services rend
ered by the 4 Mich Cavly in the suppression of
this wicked Rebellion
	2nd Resolved— That whilst we depricate the
existence of the unnatural strife now going on
between the different States in this Union we will
not cry “hold enough” until every Rebel [Flag?]
is with in safe keeping or trampled in the
dust, That we know no Friends except the Friends
of the old Flag No Enemy except its Enemy
	3d  Resolved That to Col RHG Minty be assigned 
the duty of Representation of this Regiment of
Presenting Said Flag.		Geo R Stone
