A letter to Thomas Noddins deployed as a Union soldier from his mother Sarah Noddins, his sisters Jane and Charlotte Noddins, and his wife Betseyann Noddins. Charlotte writes most of the letter, talking about how Betseyann had been at the Noddins' farm frequently while Thomas was gone. She also talks about the events in town, such as a man running away from being drafted into the war. Jane writes a small amount of the letter, asking Thomas not to be mad at her for something she told their father. Sarah writes as much as Jane, but talks about Thomas' father being ill, and how she wants to send a few things to Thomas in order for his suffering to lessen. Betseyann writes the least of all in this letter, worrying about Thomas' wellbeing in the winter weather, as well as asking for a photo of Thomas.
