Co. K 10th Mich Inft V V Alexanddria Va May 20th 1865 Dear Mother I received your letters dated April 21", 30" & May 14 also 3 papers and I am very much obliged to you we arrived here yesterday at about noon where we expect to get our pay and be sent home the whole Army is encamped here and we are to have a Grand Review some day next week. I received the shirts you sent me while we were at Culppe Culpepper C.H. they come in just the right time the hankerchief also come very good in fact I know I should have suffered a good deal if I had not got them. We passed through the city of Richmond and made a grand display The weather is dreadful hot at present so it makes it awful work to march but I hope the marching is about over now but there was a report in camp that we have got to march to Baltimore as there is not railroads enough running from Washington to transport the whole Army but if we do it will not be much of a march as it is only about 40 miles. Well Mother I don't know what to write about there is nothing going on here except the usual routine of camp duty You must excuse me this time and I will try and do better next time Give my love to Father and believe me your affectionate son William Bostock Co K 10th Inft VV
