Camp Co "K" 10" Mich Inft June 1” 1865 Dear Mother Again I embrace the opportunity to drop you a few lines although the drums have beat for us to go to bed but I am not sleepy so I I thought that my time ^ could not employ my time any better my candle is so dim that I can not see the lines on the paper so you must excuse me if the lines are not strait. We received orders to day to muster out all the men whose time is out before the first of next October it will take about half of our Company and we will only have about 15 men left in the Co” there is also a report in camp that all the Western troops are to be sent to Louisville Ky." and I understood that a part of the 15” A.C. have started already there is no telling when us Veterans will get out of the service but I hope it will not be long as I am sick and tired of this Soldiering. I received a letter from Georgy again last night but none from you. I also wrote to you yesterday. We have given up all hopes of getting pay here I do not now think we will get until we get to Louisville. there is nine Regiments of Non¬ Veterans in our Division to be mustered out imeadiatiy which will leave seven in the Div" all Veterans Our Brigade is all Vets out there is only two in the other two Brigs and they will be put in our Brigade I think. The weather is extremely hot and we suffer a good deal with the heat Well Mother I shall have to close this letter if you can call it such as my candle is most out.
