Peoria April 8th 61 Dear Father Yours of the 3th Ins came only to hand & I was glad to hear from You as I had no [tellings?] from You in some time I was glad to hear that You was about Ready to move on Your farm You Said you wanted to know what I was doing. I have ge been to work on the R.R. Brid^ for the last two months at the rate of $32 per month I have a very good place here but if Alexander is Determined to go away why I will of coures come homv e but otherwise I would like to Stay for two or three months. You Did not Say where he was going for my part I think this is rather A poor time for him to go any where as for money I guess I can colect enough to bring me home but if you shouv ld send any take A Receipt for your letter as there is so much trouble about the mail. We have had A fine Spring here and Every thing is verry cheap if You [receive?] any of those Ill. or, Wis. broken Bank notes bring on to them I think they will all be good again there is [37?] town in this state & 42 in.
