Chester P. Whitman Letters (c.00347)

Chester P. Whitman served in the Illinois 10th Infantry briefly during the summer of 1861 and then for the remainder of the war, was a member of the Illinois 1st Regiment of Light Artillery. He was from Ottawa, Illinois. The collection consists of two letters written by Chester P. Whitman while he served in the Illinois 10th regiment during the Civil War. These are typed transcriptions; the originals are not held at the archives.
