Dear Sister,
	         I received your letter day
before yesterday and yesterday Father
and Mother had one from you.
Since I wrote to you Uncle Henrys
folks have had a good deal of
fun about the road.
		        I was over to
Uncle Henrys last Sunday and was
coming home a foot and Charley
thought he would come down to
the road. with me and we see
Johns coming from Dowds and
thought we would open the 
road for him. We opened the fence
next to Uncle Henrys and had
went to Coles division fence clea-
red that when Bub came and
commenced curseing us and took
a rail and threatened to Knock
us if we touched another rail,

Charley took a rail also and
in stead of Bub knocking us down
Charley Knocked him down dead
for nearly five minutes,
			   We had a
trial Monday fined Charley one
dollar and cost. and then they
fined Bub Cole the same.
			     We were
going to thrash our wheat to day
but mr Talmedge was sick,
			      Jim has
sold about 200 bushels of his wheat
and got $2.00 a bushel for some and
$2.12.   Alvin Hixon has got up
a dance at Jims house tomorrow
night.
	I commenced going to
school [monday?] shall study
Geometry Book keeping and take
writing lessons   dont you
think I need to.  You said I must
write more what shall I say

        I weigh 132½ pounds have gained
some since you went away.
When you write tell me how much
you weigh if you can conveniently.

      I could not finish on the last page so must
trepass on Henry's.  old [Nickie?] has two new
kittens about a month old we think, and we
have just discovered them the other white kitty
sucks yet just as much as they, Anna s
delighted with the new kittens but blue cat is
her pet she has a blue ribbon around his neck
also one on white kitty's. your Piano has been
attended to. We took some of the plants up yes-
terday we have not forgotten the Pink.
If you can get me one of thos Pamphlets on the
use of Tobacco I would like you to bring [illegible]
send one to me. What does your Doctor tell
you about your cold in the head catarrh or what-
ever it may be I am interested in that line myself.
Anna has written a letter to you and I forgot
to send it in my last I will send it just as
it is written or rather an other one for I mislaid
that one _ Your Mother has a new dress about
finished & wishes you were her to make buttons
holes it is a black delane _   Mary has not
come back nor has your Mother heard from
her.  Hat Allen is delighted with Missouri
and wants her father to move out he does
not see the point.. I had an introduction
to Dora the other day (Miss Peabody Mrs Cath-

Dear Janie.  Henry finished his letter and left this
blank page so I thought I would add a few lines your
Mother and I have had a nice frolic at bag mending we
mustered 61 bags all needing patches excepting about a
dozen but none need them now, don't you wish you had
been here to help?  Well I know you would have liked
a piece of a beautiful apple that our dutch girl brought in a
few minutes ago so large, yellow and just tart enough to be
nice, well, the snow apples will be nice when you come
and come I would you did not ask for my advice
but I will give it come home get Dr York to prescribe
for you, and rest and take it easy your Mother will
do about so much any how and your trying to help her
	        her
only worries ^ and makes it harder for her _ I admire
your spunk in staying and I think you do right to
stay long enough to give it a trial; you must not
let them or any one else scare you into consumption
folks have been determined to have one have it (of the lungs)
but I wont to spite them I am well as can be now so you
must get well too so we will be matched overagain.
Your letter to Aunt Joe came last night you asked a good
many questions all of which I believe I answered in my last
                                                       of
letter except about Henry's school ^ which, of course he told you today
& of Bead Cogill he is in Illinois I believe Charly says
he went away because his girl married. Mrs Talmadge
made us a visit last Wednesday and she wants to know
when you and I are coming to make her that long talked
				of visit
