Home Westville LaPorte Co Indiana September 13th 1867 Dear Sister Emma & me are both of us going to answer yours of the 8th inst _ _ tonight I would be very glad to own about 5 or 10 acres of your Stony land in N.Y State So that I could make walks & _ would not they make fine ones _ Father commenced thrashing Thursday noon & got done late last night. Talmage done the job Father had 17 bushels to one field & 265 on the other piece So the he has 782 all told _ I heard Father a carriage had to come out of his wheat crop.. I have Sold all of mine but about 100 bushels at $2.00 & 212 per bushel but I sold most of it at $2.00 only getting 212 for one load _ It has rained this PM & is now raining a triffle. & is very warm weather or has been today at least _ My house has not progressed fast _ the Doors are hung & some more painting done . & that's all _. My Masons promised to come this present week & I hope they will for I am getting anxious to move in [etc.?].. Joe Minday & Miss Bailey are married.
