Midway Dec. 26. 1868 Dear [illegible] I received your letter last wednesday with your nice present which I assure you I appreciate verry highly it is verry pretty and has been admired by every one that has seen it I she will often think of the giver. I was sorry to ha hear that your ma and Pa was not much better I hope they will be well soon give them my kindest regards and tell them I would like to see them verry much. why cant you make us a vesit I would like to see you have in Kentucky we ^ had some nice bright days since I came home and verry little cold weather so far and the dullest christmas I ever saw give my love to your Grandma when you see her and except a large portion of love from your aunt C.A Mc Connell
