CAMP TROWBRIDGE Milwaukee March 5th 1862 Dear Wife to day is Wednesdy and I have been away from home nearly a week I though I would write you a few lines So that you would get them by [crossed out] Fridays Mail we got here last Saturday at noon all Safe and Sound and found the Boys all well we have had quite a Snow Storm Since we came back it Snowed all day on Sunday and [crossed out] [crossed out] wind [crossed out] blew [crossed out] verry hard Monday and Tuesday and Snowed Some at the Same time But to day is quite mild and pleasant we have received our arms and we are drilling with them; Both in company and Battallion Drill. Bill Frazier visited our camp yesterday Evening and Staid all night with us he is on his way to Ohio we have no orders to leave yet and dont know when we will [crossed out] I Received two letters from Illinois Since I come Back I will Send you one of them in this No More I must go out, [crossed out] to Drill T.J. Davis Milwaukee March 5/62 Dear Wife I had A Safe Journey although it was Pretty Cold I found evry thing in Order at Camp Trowbridge Our company is Company. C.
