In this letter to his wife, Thomas describes his work which includes guard duty every other day, sweeping and cleaning up camp, and picking up and burying old Sesesh clothes. Davis writes that he has plenty to eat and sometimes he cooks for himself, but he doesn't like to cook for the Company. Thomas tells Lucinda about the beds he made using reed cane and that it is a good substitute for his regular bed.
