Miss Sept 1st 1863 Dear Lucinda – I Sit down this afternoon to write you a few lines So that you would get a line from me Every week any how my health is about the Same as when I wrote to you last ab The wether continues comfort^ly cool yet though it is quite warm in the Middle of the day I have no news of importance to write to day I will Send a letter to you Mother in this you can Read it and Send it to her the first oppertunity I wrote her all the news So I will not write mutch to you this time: I don't want you to look for me home until you See me coming But if I get a chance I think I will come within a month and a half or two months I dont want you to think that I Slighted you Because I did not write more to you; Henry Cleary is getting Better and will Probably be discharged soon I asked Will Cleary about that Overcoat but he did not Say whether he would sell it or not Well you must be a good girl until I write again Sometimes I almost wish you had not sent me your picture for I have to be looking at it Every day and it makes me want to come home worse than I did before I Remain your,s Ever and anon Thomas.J.
