In this letter to his wife, Thomas writes that he is well, water is scarce, and they are camped near Corinth, MS. Davis describes artillery and infantry fighting and picketing. Davis says that General Pope's division brought in 7,000 Sesesh prisoners. On page 1 of 4 is a patriotic letterhead with an angel holding a flag that has the writing ";The Union now Henceforth for Ever Amen!"
