I wrote to you once before that Atlanta was Reported taken; but this time I am quite certain that Atlanta is ours Sunday Sept 4th Well Lucinda I will finish my letter: the Mail train come in this morning and I Rec'd a letter from you after waiting so long it was dated Aug 18th No 6. I think the last one I Rec'd before was No 3 So there must be some yet behind as the last one I Rec'd before was dated July 26th I had begun to feel quite uneasy and you dont know how glad I was to Receive another letter from you and to hear that you was well you Say you weigh 136 well that will do verry well and perhaps you feel better than you would if you was more fleshy. I was on the Scales a few days ago and weighed 146 So I yet have the advantage of you ten pounds: I also Rec'd a letter from Elisabeth & Mother this morning they were in Moderate health They had Just Rec'd a letter from Brother Will near Atlanta he was Slightly wounded in the Shoulder on the 27th of July but was still doing duty .
