Davis writes Lucinda acknowledging the news of Mr. Keyes' death and the story of Cutter the Spy. He notes that they are still in Cartersville and that the Rebels have again disrupted the railroad. Davis details that it is difficult expecting to come home and then having to face disappointment again and again. He writes that when he does finally come home they will have a very difficult time bringing him back. Davis notes that they have received no mail for over a week and that he becomes anxious when not receiving letters from home regularly. Davis concludes by detailing that two years ago today was the second day of the Battle at Corinth.
