Davis writes to Lucinda noting that they left Milwaukee this morning and are now in Chicago. He continues by detailing that he expects to leave for Nashville tonight. Davis writes that everyone in the Company is here except for John Kingston, Peter Campbell, Frank Harris, and William Louchs. He additionally notes that Will Cleary and Alvin Caulkins have finally arrived, and that Will Cleary was married to Mary on December 10. Davis details that a hundred recruits have been assigned to the Regiment, and that they must be kept under guard. Davis concludes by writing that he is sending Lucinda a ring as a New Years present.
