Davis writes to Lucinda informing her that he is doing well. He notes that they left Cincinnati on the 27th, and arrived in Pittsburgh on the 29th where citizens provided them with a nice meal. Davis details that they left Pittsburgh later on the 29th and arrived in Baltimore this morning. Davis continues by noting that they will leave for Annapolis tomorrow morning, and that they did not go to New York as planned. Davis writes that it has been one month since he received a letter from Lucinda, and that he hopes to hear from her soon. He concludes by noting that there has been talk of peace for several days, and that he believes the war could be over in three to six months.
