Davis writes to Lucinda noting that he is in good health. He details that they left Raleigh on the morning of April 29th and arrived in Petersburg, Virginia yesterday. He continues to note that they will likely leave here in the morning for Washington. Davis writes that as a part of General Sherman's Army they will be placed in a camp at Alexandria, Virginia where they will wait to be reviewed and mustered out.
