November the 28^ 1863 Dear. friend I once more take my pen in hand to let you know how we prosper here in Ohio I recieved your letter and was glad to here that you was not hurt in the a scirmishes you was in. I had re^d of them in the papers before I recieved your ered letter and I thought of you and wond^ if you wer in then you soldiers haf to e indure agreat deal of sufering to restor^ our union, but the honer of doing it that will rest on your heads after the war is over is enuff to icourage you keep in good spirits untill you conquer we have been some afraid of a war brakeing out here in Ohio but I do not think there is mich danger now Brough is elected but there is agreat many Butternuts here they under to to realease Morgan and his men who are in prision ed in Columbus, but they were detect^ and taken up them selves I [ff?] you would [illegible letter] like to have the acount of it I will try and send it ls to you. if you will rite. Robert Wel^ in the [crossed out] [of] battle of was badly wounded^ Chattanooga but I have not hurd from him since I hurd he was wounded and I do not know how he is geting alond Samantha Wells is very sick Ann Vore is [crossed out word] to be bearied to day the rest of the family is well we are all well but there is a great deal of sicknes around here.
