(San Antonio Texas (Feb 2nd 1866 Dear wife I now seat my self to writ a fiew lines to you in reply to yours of the 12th of last month. which i recieved this afternoon. i am well at present and i hope when this reaches you it will find you all enjoying the same good health in greenbush. We are getting ready to come home now as fast as we can. they are making out the papers to muster us out and i dont know but we will get started for home next week at least it will not be but a short time before we will be ready. it will take the regiment about four weeks to come to jackson where we will get our discharg and pay. as there is no news to write i will stop the weather is very warm here now and i hope it will keep so until we get acrossed the Gulf hoping to be with you soon i will bid you good bye.
