Somewhat disapointed for I
have Just Come from the
Post Office where I Expected to
receive a letter from my dear
Emma.
	But dearest I will be
reasonable for I presume you
have some good Excuse.
			   Oh! Dear
One you can hardly imagine
how I long to see you to Kiss
those lips and listen to your
honest sincere, and affectionate 
remarks _
	Dear Emma I will
tell you why I was so anxious
to hear from you to day. Tomorow
morning at Six O.clock we all start
for “Corrinth” or beyond that place

Oh Emma dear Girl I tried
Every way in my power to
visit you before going South
but all to no avail for I
could not do it. I could
go before Enlisting. and after
that I could not procure
a Furlough.
	         Dearest will
you write to me as soon 
as you receive _ this
