dear letter came to hand a few
moments since and I “Cannot rest”
until it is answered _ Oh! My
Own dear girl _ You alone Can
Judge of the true pleasure experianced
by me when your letters are received
	None but those who love deeply
can Express, or understand the sens=
ation _ [Can?] they darling _
	Last Evening I was at
the Theatre _ The Play _ was “Ingomar _
I think One of Bulwens works _ Oh!

that you might have been with me
tofully appreciate _ and see as though
in reality _ how much acouple
who are possessed of Noble Qualities
will do for Each Other _ and es-
pecially under adverse Circumstances
“Two Souls with but a single thought”
“Two hearts that beat as One”
     When I witness family Contentions
    and disturbances I am at once
Satisfied that deep, honest, true Love
never prompted their marriage _
     Because _ where love Exists it
must be on very severe grounds
that Quarrels Can be gotten up _
	Deloss nor Fannie have made
but little progress toward a recon-
-ciliation _ I think there arrangements
are nearly Closed up _ and I
am sorry for he loved her and
I am sure She did him to
some extent.
     Charlie Goodwin has been stay-
-ing with me for several days

We had splendid good times sure _
     Charlie enquired all about you
He left this morning for Texas
where he expects to find the Company.
some times I feel like going my-
-self all though I am very ples-
-antly Situated where I am – and
my profits are considerable great-
-er where I am _ But I have
enjoyed myself so much in the Company
_ and there is so much greater field
for adventure before the Enemy _
     I have only had One letter from
my People since leaving them _
     Dear Emma you must not doubt
my affections _ You must always
Conclude Mark has some good 
reason for not writing _ when 
the time overruns _
    My health is first rate
as long as I feel as well
as now I Shall not Complain
   But I worry on your account
very Often _ You are  rather feeble


and great Care is necessary
in order toguard against some-
-thing that might prove of avery
serious characer _ You Know
your Mark always wants his
Emma looking bright and
well –
	I am now very busy
with Reports – and must
