no letter from you this morning to
cheer me _ I was Certain I Should
have a letter today without doubt
What does it mean _ Is My Pet.
Sick _ or what reasons Can I assign
for your silance _ Well dearest
I will not complain for I have
no doubt there is some good reason
for my not receiving a letter
from you today _
	I Know you are true to
me – I cannot _ &will not doubt
you for one moment _ when I
was with you only a short
time ago from every glance
I Could plainly see the deep ex-
-pression ofyour love – I am
sure you are true and I can

but say I am proud of the affec-
-tions of one so pure and good
Some times dear One I think I
am not halfgood Enough for 
you _ that maybe I could not make
you happy - yet if we loved deeply
(And I Know we do.) no matter if the
Entire world Condemed we would
Still be happy in Ourselves –
      Oh! My darling _ it did seem
to me that my brief visit with
you was to small tosatisfy _ well
it did not fully satisfy me – but
yet they were Sweet hours tome
and you too _ were they not dear
	I have snatched a moment
from my business hours towrite
and as I pen these lines there
are eight or ten persons waiting
on me _ Some are desireous
of obtaning transportation – some
wish toreport some detachments
Some want Provisions Returns
approval _ and sundry other

    wants to numerous to men-
-tion _ Sometimes they will
interrupt me – and you Should
see me frown _ (All made but
very necessary ) and ask them
if they hav'ent got any sense
or if they cant see that my time
is occupied – etc etc etc
     We have had quite a fight
out a little way from here
on the Rail Road at Collier-
-ville (where Cousin D. is -) I
have heard nothing from him
yet but trust he is safe _ Our
Arms were victorious _ under the
command of our gallant Col
Hotch _ He is a trump
