Seminary Hospital Georgetown D.C. May 8th 1865 Dear Sister I have forgoten wether I answered your last letter or not but am inclined to think I did some time ago you will see by the heading of this letter that I am in the Hospital but it is nothing serious and I shall be out in a few days again I have been here about two weeks and have about recovered when our regiment moved from the vally here to washington we came on the cars and in getting out of the car I hurt my back but did not think at the time it would amount to any thing and I marched about eight miles with the Regiment and caught cold that night sleeping on the ground and have been quite sick but am geting around again right smart so I am out I could get my Discharge but I want to go home with the Regiment when it goes home which I think will be mustered out in course of a month I will be out of here in the course of four or five days and letters directed to my regiment at fort Meigs washington If I am not out of the Hospital will be sent from the regiment to me. I willbe out to michigan next fall if nothing hapens I had a letter from Ett Crowell about a week ago she writes that mamma is coming out their this summer. Give my love to the children tell Maggie I will be out their soon to duck her in the rain trough again Remeber me to Harmans Vantyles and Boises folks and all the rest of the neighbours From Your Brother Jim to Kate
