the Chatinooga Feb^ 14. 1864 Dear Sister I now take the opportunity to rite you a few lines to let you know how i am getting a long I am well at present I have had a little turn of the direah last week but have got better now I have not got any letter from you yet I looked for one yesturday but did not get any I like to have you to send me some of that medison that miss vantuyl sent to mr vantuyl for the direah when you rite if you can get it I would like it the boys that is here that come with me are all well Richard Fisk has had the direah but has got better now it is very Easy work now here and healthy work that we have to do here It seems that the opinion of the army here that the war will soon close perhaps in six months or a year thare are from twenty five to one hundred Rebs deserters comes in here evry day and they say that Braggs army are all leaving him and coming to our lines you must rite as soon as you get this I cant think of any more at preasent so good bie Give my Love to all those that may Enquire a bout me Fron your Brother Solomon Hardenberg to Catherine Baker
