1864 Chattnooga march 20th Dear Sister I now take my pen in hand again to rite you a few lines I rote you three or fore days a go but do not know wether you will get it or now thare has been a little brake on the rail road. morgan capurd one of our trains betwen here and nashville about the time i rote to you before so i thought i would rite a short letter to day I Just recd a letter from mr Mcomber today he rote that he was over to your house and he said you got the letter that had the receit in I rote for a box in my other – letter for you to direct was you did my letters but if you have not sent it you can send to chattnooga tenn I am well and have been a visiting today over to the twenty first i saw thair Ed warners wifes brother their he was well the old solger says that we have got over the worst of our time for sickness now if I dont see any worse time than i have seen on the a count of sickness i shall feell pretty well you must rite often and i shall do the same I cant think of any thing more recd this from [yow?] Brother Solomon Hardenberg to Catherine Baker
