Camp on Lookout Mt March 29, 1864 Dear sister I now take this oportunity to rite to you a few lines to let you know that we have got moved once more we are on the top of lookout mountain it is 50280 hundred feet a bove the level of the river so you must know that we are up in the wourld you must not look for a letter from me for I dont know what time we may be takin or routed out of here they say that the gurillias are a round here but I dont know you must not think of getting any letters after this but if we are let a lone here I shall rite once a week I am a cooking for a mess now it is prety snug work for me it is rather awkward work for me I shall get red of it as soon as posible it is a nise plase up here I have got to go and look at my super I am cooking beans for super no more at present From Sol to Cate I forgot good bie Dirct your leters to as before Dear Sister I Just resieved a letter from you and one from mag and one fron Matt and was glad to hear that you was all well I sent a letter to matt last sunday and sent my likeness you must rite often no more From your Brother Sol to Cate this is rather dirty but paper is paper here so i thought i would send this but I am a shamed of it Give my respects to all and rite for [mom?] to come and stay with you this summer kiss the children for me Sol
