		Dear Pa and Ma.
it is with pleasure that
I now sit down to answer
your verry welcome letter
which I recieved the other
day. I am not verry
well at present being
troubled with the [scurvy?]
Warren is well at present
I wrote to Lucinda the
Seventeenth of this month
and sent her and Fannie
a book. we have verry 
good times a present
with the exceptions of
Drill which we have
twice a day our Colonel
has resigned he was loved

by all his Boys and
we hated to part with
him when you write
tell me all the news
tell me how Grandma
gets along and the rest
of her folks will soon
I would write more
but it tires me tell
Willie to use this any way
he wants to and Fanny
the same Good bie
