Israel responds to rumors around his hometown that he hoards money for gambling rather than sending it home to his parents. He states that he needs all the money he has for food and he admits that he plays Euchre occasionally but only because camp life is so boring. Israel then promises to send money home after his next pay day and to quit gambling if his parents demand it.
