Israel discusses the condition of a few family friends in the army, joking that one person was starting to grow an impressive beard, which made him "look like a man." He also assures his mother that he will not marry any woman before he meets her, despite the urging of his father. Israel notes that he definitely will not marry a "snuff chewing Southern" woman.
