H No 6 Oct. 6, 1862 Dear Sister, How do you do to day I am well some of the boys have got something of colds I have not been trou bled with colds since I have been in the army have been very lucky the rest of the boys are eating their dinner but I have just received and read your letter number 6 and rather than to be in doubt I will let my dinner go a while and answer your letter yesterday we came back from the city we were down there for provost guard I wish that they had let us be there for we did not have much to do and had matress es to sleep on in a room d when we were not on guar^ we could take our guns with fixed bayonets and go where were a mind to Charlie came down and we went out to the [Written upside down on top of Page] winter vest there is going to be a box sent from [crossed out] [over] Wilbers or about there so the [Continued sideways on left side of Page] boys say tell George and [illegible] that I will write [Continued on bottom of Page] to them next that paper Cymetary we got some little pieces of Henry Clays monument I am going to send that that I got home (to you) I mean I call that home when I speak about your home also some seed that I got from a bush I do not know what it is you can plant it and then you can find out what it is some kind of flowers I should think by the looks of the bush. it is the handsomest place that I ever saw that is a grave yard some very nice trees of most all kinds to some very nice monuments [Written upside down on top of Page] Tell E.J. the next time that there is a chance to send my [Written on bottom of Page] with those things in came all right besides Clay’s that is the greatest pile of stone that I ever saw in any such shape I mean. on top there is a man carved out. about what you said that night that you went to Mr Waltons I have not thought of it as I know since I left home I forgive as I wish to be forgiven so I trust that we are all right on the goose question. but such is not a laughing matter for such expiressions cut close if one does not mean what they say and I presume you have had more reason to complain that I have but now [Written sideways on right side of Page] is no time to worry about that you [Continued upside down on top of Page] are in Mich and I am Ky so wait till I come home.
