Lieut. Col. Wilkinson of the 9th infantry forwarded to me,
supposing that you were still here, recommendations for
the promotion of Col. John G. Parkhurst as a Brigadier
General. I hope the application will be successful, as
thereby Lieut. Cole. Wilkinson will become Colonel of the
Regiment.
