1861, January and February 1862 in Kentucky, In engagements at Bell
Buckle, Tenn. May 2nd,at Lebannon Tenn, May 3rd with Gen. Neglys'
command at Chattannogga June 4, 7th, 1862. In battle of Murfeesboro

July 13th, 1862 and taken prisoner there, Paroled in Oct. from Libby
Prison and exchanged in December. Dec. 24th assumed command 9th Mich.

and with the regiment was assigned to duty at head quarters 14th

Army Corps. In battle of Stone's River Dec. 91st, 1862, Jany. 1, 2, &
3rd, I863. :

As Colonel commanding 9th Mich. Inf. & 14th Army Corps in Tulia-
homa campaign in June and July and in August and September in Chattanooga
campaigns; In the battle of Chickamauga Sept. 19 & 20,at Rossville 2ist

aud went into Chattanooga on night of Sept. 2lst.

From Oct. 1st, to Dec. 29th,1863 was in command of the Post of
Chattanooga having in my command 44th Ind. Inf. 15th Ky. Inf. and 9th
Mich. Inf.

May 18th 1864 assumed command 9th Mich. Inf. in the field at

—__A@airsville, Ga. and served through the Atlanta campaign till the occu-
pation of Atlanta Sept. 3rd, 1864. . ea ee
Was on staff? duty as Pro. Mar. Gen. of the Army in the battle of
Nashville.Dec. 15th and 16th 1864.

Served as Pw. Mar. 14th Army Corps from Dec. 26th, 1862 to Feby. |
9th 1864, As Provost Marshal General Dept. of the Cumberland from
Feoy. LOth 1864 to June 25th 1865 and as Pm Mar. Gen. Military Division
of the Tennessee til October 4th, 1865.
