Nickolasvilke ky June 18/.64 Dear wife I again write to inform you that I am well at [?] all are the same we are on the same old campground again our regiment went off after old morgan last week they have got back they whipt him out and he has run for Virginia again I went to camp nelson with 10 [of] the men to take care of some horses so I did not go on the raid there was but one man killed in our regiment and one wounded we are having very good times for soldiers plenty to eat and not a great deal to do at present we had marching order to go to Georgia before the morgan raid but how long we shall stay in ky I do not know [?] all summer I have not heard from wm but once since he went South I wrote to him to day you must manage things the best you can and if that [mc cord?] dont do it right you got mr [niveson?] to assist you to make him understand what he is bound to do write to me as often as you can sent 2 letters home about 10days ago but have got none from you in some time morgan ripped the rail road Luve (Louisville?) and Cincinnatti and the mail has been stopped for some days but will come regular again soon
