19th 64 Nicholsville ky June Dear daughter as I sit under this oak tree I am thankful for having the privilege of writing to you once more to inform that I am well I recvd your kind and welcome letter last night after I had written one to mother and [illegible] it wh the two Dollars was all right I had paid the last [illegible] I had [illegible] four envelopes [illegible letter] glad [was?] to hear from you but as for me [Corol?] I think if he is a mean pimp you had better git rid of him some way but try and have the crops tended if you can and don't let them abuse the horses [illegible] go off the farm unless some of you goes along I dont know how [two words illegible] would manage but he could do well if he was a mine to as for that for willis I think he is better at lofering than any thing be and I don't want any of my girls to associate with lofers any more than they can possibly help I wish I was at home home to manage for you an attend to my own business but I cant at present but I will help you all I can with my advise and earnings I hope to come home to stay in the [illegible] of six months but I cant tell I have nothing more of interest to write to you about 100 of our men are just going out on a scout to see if they find any rebs I am on guard to day but all I have to do is to sit in the Shade and write soon give this penny to little jesse and kisses Jesse Taft
