Dear wife and children
I again write to let you
know that I am well at
present and hope you all
are the same we expect
to start in a day or two on
another march I think we
will go through south
carolina and north carolina
to richmond virginia
I have been looking for
sometime a letter from  [?]
but get none I have sent
 4 or 5 about 18th and 20th
of Dec Sent 40 Dollars
in them however I am
in hopes to get some 
letters from you soon
we have not got any
hay yet and perhaps

we wont till we get
to some other point
you must write often
I being to think you don't
write to me much you need
not be disappointed if you
dont hear from me in 3 or 4
weeks for when we are on a
march we cant send letters
you must write whether you get
 my letters or not write
all particulars and news
write where William is
I want to write to him
but don't know where
to direct write all about
the winter and the []
of your feed for the stock
I send you my love
and good wishes kiss my
man jesse for me and 
and give him this money
